About Me
Personality is a relative term. While it’s universally acknowledged that it is simply who a person is, it is also a characteristic set of behaviours, cognitions, and emotional patterns that evolve from biological and environmental factors. So when I am asked to write a biography about myself, I’m not sure how to go about that. To be honest, I have no idea how to start writing about myself. I can list plenty of things about myself. I was born in Seoul, South Korea. I am an immigrant. I am an artist. I am queer. I am a photographer. I know all these things about myself, but when asked to put it all together into a simple paragraph, I’m completely lost. I suppose a lot of these things are connected with each other. I love learning new things and that’s why I’m an artist, you never run out of things to create, of mediums or styles to learn. There’s always something new to try. So that want of knowledge ultimately led to me joining the Visual Arts and Media Academy. It was a way for me to branch out and try new things. Without it, I would probably never have come to the conclusion that I want art in my future, both personally and professionally. It made me come to the conclusion that I want to continue taking photos and become a professional photographer. Maybe I’ll achieve that, maybe I won’t. But I will continue growing and developing, both as a person and as an artist.
